Our label ‘CSR Committed’

In order to structure and give credibility to our CSR approach undertaken since 2021, the group’s management wanted to engage in a labeling process. The choice fell on the “Engaged CSR” label from AFNOR.

The “Engaged CSR” label in a few words

The “Engaged CSR” label has been issued since 2010 by AFNOR Certification, a leading third-party certification organization in France. This label is based on the ISO 26000 standard, the only international reference established by consensus on the social responsibility of organizations.

It is also consistent with the main international standards (Global Compact, GRI Standards, United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, etc.). The “Engaged CSR” label is structured into 5 chapters for evaluating the company’s CSR practices (managerial practices, production and consumption, local anchoring) and 3 chapters for CSR results (economic, social/societal and environmental). These are 54 criteria which are examined in the field by an evaluator who comes to meet employees and stakeholders.

The first certified concrete manufacturer!

We know that there is still a long way to go, but we are proud to have obtained the “CSR Committed” label for our 1st evaluation with the “Confirmed” level, which is the 3rd level on a scale from 1 to 4 (the 4th level being that of exemplarity). This distinction rewards the commitment of management and the significant efforts made by all employees over the last two years on all subjects relating to CSR. Obtaining this label is only a first step, because the stakes are high, there are many avenues for progress and we will therefore continue our efforts with humility, but determination in a logic of continuous improvement.

The rest of the journey!

In addition to our axes and all the actions already put in place, we have established commitments for 2025 and 2030. This allows us to stay focused on the exemplarity that we are aiming for!

Here are some of the actions on which we will continue our work in the coming months and years:

  • Low carbon and biosourced concrete
  • Reducing energy consumption
  • Sustainable mobility
  • Treatment of water used in our factories
  • Waste sorting
  • A survey on well-being at work with an action plan
  • Combatting discrimination
  • A sponsorship strategy
  • Inventorying and sharing our practices that promote local roots
